Job summary

Kyndryl is seeking a seasoned Mainframe Engineer in the United States, focusing on z/OS batch processing and utilities development. The role requires deep experience with IBM mainframe tools and modern DevOps pipelines to streamline batch workflows.

Qualifications

• 5-8+ years of mainframe experience and batch processing focus.
• Strong hands-on experience with IBM z/OS and JCL.
• Experience with DFSORT/Syncsort, IDCAMS, and IBM utilities.
• Knowledge of COBOL, REXX, and SQL; familiarity with z/OS Connect and Jenkins.
• Experience with SCM tools: Endevor, Changeman, Rocket, ISPW.

Responsibilities

• Serve as vendor software tool administrator for mainframe pipelines.
• Lead resolution of complex problems requiring deep analysis.

The Role Key Responsibilities

• Vendor software Tool Administrator for: BMC DevX Code Pipeline/ISPW, BMC Topaz Workbench, IBM IDz v17.* , CA-JCLCHECK.
• Demonstrate technical expertise and knowledge.
• Lead resolution processes for complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
• Develop technical solutions, automation of processes and lead individual or small team initiatives.
• Utilize and extend standard IBM and ISV utilities such as: DFSORT / Syncsort IDCAMS IEBGENER / IEBCOPY / SORT utilities.

Required Qualifications

5-8+ years of mainframe experience 3+ years focused on utilities development / batch processing Strong experience with: IBM z/OS environment Hands-on expertise in: JCL and batch processing DFSORT / Syncsort IDCAMS and IBM utilities Experience building: Data processing utilities ETL batch processes Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills for batch environments Experience with: Mainframe z/OS and Horizon platforms, z/OS USS, z/OS Connect, Jenkins, Ansible, IDZ and/or Eclipse based software.
