Job summary

Kyndryl in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an experienced mainframe professional to support z/OS environments, batch processing, and modernization initiatives. You will contribute to automation efforts and work with a diverse team to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

Ideal candidates have 5–8+ years of mainframe experience, hands-on JCL, DFSORT/Syncsort, and familiarity with IBM utilities. Collaboration with multiple stakeholders will be essential to success in this role.

Qualifications

• 5-8+ years of mainframe experience.
• 3+ years focused on utilities development / batch processing.
• Hands-on experience with IBM z/OS environment.
• Experience with JCL and batch processing.
• Knowledge of IBM/ISV utilities: DFSORT, Syncsort, IDCAMS, IBM batch tools.
• Experience with REXX, COBOL, Python/Java/SQL.
• Familiarity with z/OS Connect, Jenkins, Ansible, IDZ/ Eclipse.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate technical expertise and lead resolution of complex problems.

• Vendor software Tool Administrator for: BMC DevX Code Pipeline/ISPW, BMC Topaz Workbench, IBM IDz v17.* , CA-JCLCHECK.
• Demonstrate technical expertise and knowledge.
• Lead resolution processes for complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
• Develop technical solutions, automation of processes and lead individual or small team initiatives.
• Utilize and extend standard IBM and ISV utilities such as: DFSORT / Syncsort IDCAMS IEBGENER / IEBCOPY / SORT utilities.

Required Qualifications

5-8+ years of mainframe experience 3+ years focused on utilities development / batch processing Strong experience with: IBM z/OS environment Hands-on expertise in: JCL and batch processing DFSORT / Syncsort IDCAMS and IBM utilities Experience building: Data processing utilities ETL batch processes Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills for batch environments Experience with: Mainframe z/OS and Horizon platforms, z/OS USS, z/OS Connect, Jenkins, Ansible, IDZ and/or Eclipse based software.
