Job summary

Euroclear is seeking a motivated junior Mainframe System Engineer to join our CORE Tribe. You will help monitor and automate mainframe processes and explore modernization with AI and container platforms in a global enterprise environment.

As part of a team of about 20 mainframe engineers, you may participate in on-call rotations and weekend resilience exercises while contributing to automation projects and supplier management.

Qualifications

• Exposure to mainframe environments is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise to support and troubleshoot infrastructure issues as they arise.
• Monitor and resolve alerts or incidents on the platform.
• Ensure systems are properly operated, maintained, and enhanced through successful implementation of changes.
• Contribute to the development of automation capabilities using Ansible and similar tools by designing and delivering relevant use cases.
• Maintain strong relationships with external suppliers to ensure effective support levels.
• Monitor system usage, capacity, and performance.
• Identify and automate repetitive manual tasks to reduce risk and improve efficiency.

Job Description

Group Technology Services plans, builds and runs the global infrastructure of Euroclear, and is additionally responsible for the IT service management to the operating entities of the various Group markets. The division operates its IT systems and IT services in such a way that, at an appropriate and benchmarked cost level, it can deliver the agreed levels of service to support the requirements of the business processes, for both normal operations and during disaster recovery.

Your Role

We are looking for a motivated junior Mainframe System Engineer to join our squad within the CORE Tribe. As part of a team of approximately 20 mainframe engineers, you will contribute to monitoring and automating mainframe processes and activities. You will also explore ways to modernize the mainframe environment by integrating it with emerging technologies such as AI and container platforms.

At a later stage, you will participate in on-call rotations and contribute to weekend activities, including business resilience exercises such as SWAP and RDR.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide expertise to support and troubleshoot infrastructure issues as they arise


• Monitor and resolve alerts or incidents on the platform


• Ensure systems are properly operated, maintained, and enhanced through successful implementation of changes


• Contribute to the development of automation capabilities using Ansible and similar tools by designing and delivering relevant use cases
