Job summary

DTCC in Coppell, TX seeks an experienced Application Support professional to help design, deploy, and maintain critical software solutions used in the global capital markets. You will work with partners and clients to prevent incidents, resolve issues, and support audits while contributing to disaster recovery efforts.

The role emphasizes collaboration, strong troubleshooting, and scripting skills, with a minimum of 4 years of related experience and a preferred Bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

• Analysis of Applications Systems to prevent incidents.

• Ensure automation yields expected results within thresholds.

• Renewals and service account password changes; handle minor enhancements.
• Align risk and control processes with day-to-day responsibilities.

The Impact you will have in this role:

The Development family is responsible for creating, designing, deploying, and supporting applications, programs, and software solutions. May include research, new development, prototyping, modification, reuse, re-engineering, maintenance, or any other activities related to software products used internally or externally on product platforms supported by the firm. The software development process requires in-depth subject matter expertise in existing and emerging development methodologies, tools, and programming languages. Software Developers work closely with business partners and / or external clients in defining requirements and implementing solutions. The Application Support Engineering role specializes in maintaining and providing technical support for all applications that are beyond the development stage and are running in the daily operations of the firm. Works closely with development teams, infrastructure partners, and internal / external clients to escal and resolve technical support incidents.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

• Analysis of Applications Systems in order to prevent incidents from reoccurring
• Expand knowledge base of operating procedures/runbooks for supported applications
• Collaborate within the team to resolve application alerts and elevate as needed
• Gather requested documentation in support of ongoing audits requests
• Execute assigned steps of the Disaster Recovery scripts during planned and unplanned outages, collecting BCM evidence as needed
• Ensure automation produces expected results within stated threshholds
• Monitor Dashboard to provide better visibility into potential issues and future outages
• Analyze proposed application design and provide feedback on potential gaps to business requirements
• Execute renewals/service account password changes as scheduled, resolve production defects and handlle minor enhancements as needed
• Aligns risk and control processes into day to day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience

Talents Needed for Success:

• Knowledge on application support - basic programming skills, log reading and analysis
• Distributed Application troubleshooting and Support skills.
• Familiarity working with relational databases (DB2, Oracle, Snowflake)
• Monitoring and Data Tools experience (Splunk, DynaTrace, Thousand Eyes, Grafana, Selenium, HiPam IBM Zolda)
• Familiarity with Cloud Technologies (AWS services (S3, EC2, Lambda, SQS, IAM roles), Azure, OpenShift, RDS Aurora, Postgress)
• Middleware experience (Solace, Tomcat, Liberty Server, WebSphere, WebLogic, JBoss)
• Messaging Queue Systems (IBM MQ, Oracle AQ, ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka)
• Scripting languages (Bash, Python, Ruby, Shell, Perl, JavaScript)
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively.
• Familiarity with Mainframe troubleshooting and support skills (COBOL, JCL, DB2, DB2 Stored Procedures, CICS, SPUFI, File aid)
• Fosters a culture where honesty and transparency are expected.

The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations.
