Job summary
Smart IT Frame LLC in Berkeley Heights, NJ is seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer with strong IBM Mainframe experience to analyse business requirements, develop and maintain batch and online applications, and support production issues in a fast-paced environment.
The role focuses on hands-on coding in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2 and VSAM, with collaboration across QA, BAs and stakeholders through the SDLC to ensure high-quality, reliable solutions and adherence to coding standards.
Qualifications
- Experience in designing, developing and maintaining mainframe batch and online applications.
- Ability to perform impact analysis and translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with SDLC and Agile methodologies and release processes.
Responsibilities
- Analyse business requirements and perform impact analysis.
- Design, develop, test and maintain Mainframe applications.
- Develop and enhance programs using COBOL, CICS, DB2, VSAM and JCL.
- Create and maintain batch jobs, procedures and utilities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues and defects.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure coding standards.
- Collaborate with business analysts, QA and stakeholders during SDLC.
- Support deployments and postproduction activities.
- Prepare technical design and supporting documentation.
