Job summary

Illinois Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) seeks a journey‑level Systems Command Center Technician for the evening shift. You will monitor enterprise systems, perform startups and shutdowns, and coordinate with on‑call staff to resolve outages.

Strong documentation and ticketing will support audit requirements. Preferred candidates have one year of data processing experience and familiarity with mainframe environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma required.
• 1 year of related data processing experience preferred.
• Experience with mainframe environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, operate and control enterprise system resources and mainframe components.
• Perform startups, shutdowns, system dumps, and routine maintenance tasks.
• Escalate and coordinate resolution with on‑call staff for outages or failures.
• Maintain shift logs and update incident tickets for audit purposes.
