Mainframe/COBOL Developer
As our Mainframe Developer, you will be a key member of our insurance product team, responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and supporting the organization’s insurance business. The team is on an exciting journey to transform our insurance application into a cloud-based platform and modernize our technology stack.
What You’ll Do
Make system updates to the Mainframe Insurance application. Assist with the migration of insurance business from the Mainframe platform to Guidewire P&C Insurance application.
Refine system change requirements, participate in design sessions, present ideas to diverse groups, and collaborate with team members.
Provide application support in a production environment on a rotational schedule, covering day and night shifts.
What You’ll Need
Experience with COBOL programming in a Z/OS Mainframe environment.
Ability to analyze programs and understand application states.
Proficiency with COBOL, DB2, JCL, CICS, ISPW, and other mainframe application development tools. Eagerness to learn and grow your skills.
Ability to work in a hybrid environment (three days in-office, two days remote), with schedules planned quarterly.
What We Prefer
Experience working with Agile teams, participating in daily standups, sprints, and deployments.
Proficiency with mainframe tools such as Syncsort, Xpediter, SAR, FileAid, and Abend-Aid.
Previous experience in the Insurance/Property-Casualty domain.
Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to evolving technologies.
