Job summary

St. John’s College High School in Washington, DC, seeks a full-time Main Office Coordinator to manage daily administrative operations for the Main Office and Principal’s Office.

You will greet students, parents and visitors, handle emails, track attendance issues, coordinate mail and supplies, and support school events while maintaining confidentiality and strong organizational standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • At least two years of administrative, school-office, customer-service, or related professional experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.
  • Proficiency with email, calendars, spreadsheets, shared documents, and standard office technology.
  • Ability to learn and use student information, attendance, visitor-management, and communication systems.

Job description

The Main Office Coordinator is the primary point person for the daily administrative operations of the Main Office and Principal’s Office.

Responsibilities include:

  • Greeting and assisting students, parents, faculty, staff, and visitors who come to the Main Office.
  • Answering and directing incoming emails.
  • Identifying unresolved attendance issues and assisting with follow-up.
  • Supporting late arrivals, early dismissals, and other attendance-related processes.
  • Responding to routine parent and student questions and directing more complex concerns to the appropriate administrator.
  • Supporting faculty and staff with routine office needs.
  • Coordinating mail, deliveries, and school mailings / emailing.
  • Maintaining office and faculty-room supplies and refreshments.
  • Assisting with major school events and administrative projects.
  • Providing general administrative support to the Principal and Assistant Principals.
  • Helping coordinate day-to-day office operations.

The individual is someone who has a strong understanding of the daily rhythm of the school and can help ensure that routine operational needs are handled efficiently.

  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative office team.

  • Ability to successfully complete all required background checks and child-protection training
Other Info

Full-time, 12-month position
Salary Range: $55,000–$70,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
