Position Information
- WorkSchedule (40 hours per work week):
- 3rdShift Scheduling (30-minute unpaid lunch). Please note the days and hoursmay change slightly for team coverage but will still follow typical 3rd shifthours.
- Monday:10:30 PM – 9:00 AM (10 hours)
- Tuesday:10:30 PM – 9:00 AM (10 hours)
- Wednesday:10:30 PM – 9:00 AM (10-Hours)
- Thursday:10:30 PM – 9:00 AM (10 hours)
- WorkLocation & Environment:
- Location:101 Cold Harbor Drive, Frankfort, KY 40601
- WorkType: On-site – telework not authorized.
- Environment:Open office concept with shared workstations.
- Attire:Business Casual – jeans are authorized.
- Note:
- TheMCO supports operation of critical infrastructure ofthe Client and does not close for weather related issues.
- Nodirect interaction in official capacity with the general public in thisposition.
- Thisposition will require an additional orientation and training period ofat least one (1) week on 1st shift.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Monitoringof the CABINET and other Client Executive branchinformation technology assets through web-based and other computer-basedtools.
- Creating,updating, and providing detailed notes of incident tickets and tasksarising from issues found during the monitoring activities, site networkoutages, and other user/agency issues relatedto CABINET services and activities.
- Verbaland electronic communications with various Commonwealth, countygovernment, and other governmental agencies attached to the ExecutiveBranch of the Commonwealth.
- Monitorthe status for the CABINET Data Center including theenvironmental conditions of the center.
- Controlaccess to the CABINET Data Center through creation of accessrequest, processing of visitors to restricted areas, and providing escortsinto the restricted areas.
- ProvideTier 1 level customer support for Information Technology (IT) related asrequired.
- Initiateescalation activities as required to support the resolution of issues andkeeping detailed notes in the ticketing system used by the CABINET.
- Safeguardingand proper use sensitive information and equipment preventing the lossand/or unauthorized distribution of that information/equipment.
- Followingofficial policies, procedures, laws of the EOM, CABINET,and Client – including federal guidelines, requirements, andlaws as required.
- Supportphysical changes and maintenance of the CDC.
- Otherduties and assignments in the support of the EOM, CABINET,and Client official activities.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Experienceas a Desktop Support technician or other IT support with experiencediagnosing and resolving technical issues with hardware and softwaresystems, providing general IT support duties with excellenttroubleshooting skills.
- Reliableattendance.
- Intermediatecomputer skills:
- WindowsOperation Systems (OS).
- BasicWindows OS networking tools with command prompt or PowerShell.
- Microsoft365 Copilot application experience (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel,SharePoint, PowerPoint)
Additional Desired Skills and Abilities
- Experiencewith creating tickets, request, and logging notes into IT ServiceManagement (ITSM) ticketing system.
- Datacenter operations experience.
- Experiencewith interacting of enterprise IT management and monitoring systems(active directory, Dynatrace, ServiceNow, Windows System Center).
- Programmingexperience with a focus in JavaScript and TypeScript. Understandingfundamentals of database operations and Application Programming Interface(API) interactions.
