Job summary

CompucomStaffing is seeking an on-site Desktop Support Technician in Arkansas City, KS to join our client team on a contract-to-hire basis. The role runs on a 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM CST on-site schedule with a rotating on-call rotation.

The ideal candidate will repair, image, test and support PCs, printers and related hardware, manage tickets in Service-now, and provide face-to-face end-user assistance at the client site.

Qualifications

• Solid desktop fundamentals with experience in PowerShell, Intune, and system administration.
• Experience with asset management.
• Experience with Office365, Win10 Professional, imaging, and ticketing systems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience supporting applications related to engineering, manufacturing, and logistics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Repair, test, image and clean PCs, laptops, monitors, printers, and related hardware.
• Troubleshoot software and peripherals; set up, configure, and add hardware.
• Perform install, move, add, and change; execute large IMAC events for printer migration and PC refreshes.
• Ensure tickets receive follow-up; use Service-now and visual task board.
• Provide in-person end-user technical support at the customer site.
• Back up and restore end-user data.
• Assist in documenting improvements to current processes.
• Assist other coworkers in resolving end-user issues across the program.
• Assist Site Leader with established processes and escalations.
• Assist with server installations, configurations, upgrades, patches, and maintenance.
• Perform backup, recovery, and security procedures.
• Detect, diagnose, and report outages of critical site applications.
• Diagnose network hardware and performance problems.
• Perform network system administration tasks.
• Diagnose shop floor PC deployment.

Job description

Our client is looking for a qualified Desktop Support Technician to support the team onsite in Arkansas City, KS. This technician will work as part of a rotating on call schedule. This is a Contract to Hire opportunity. The hours for this role are 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM CST.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Repair, test, image and clean PC's, laptop, monitors, printers, and other related hardware
• Maintain, analyze, and troubleshoot software and computer peripherals. Ability to set up, configure, and add all hardware
• Perform install, move, add, and change. Large IMAC events expected for client printer migration and PC refreshes
• Ensure that all tickets requiring follow-up work and/or calls receive appropriate attention
• Be able to account for work using visual task board , Service-now Ticket System, and during regular team stand up meetings
• Comfortable with face-to-face interactions as will be required to provide technical support to end users in-person at the customer's site
• Back up and burn end user data
• Assist in developing and documenting improvements to current processes
• Assist other coworkers in resolution of end users' technical issues across the program
• Assist Site Leader in the execution of established processes and escalations
• Assist with installations, configurations, upgrades, patch, and other maintenance actives of server equipment
• Perform backup, recovery, and security procedures both planned or during emergency
• Follow established procedures to detect, diagnose, and accurately report outage of critical site applications
• Assist with diagnoses of network hardware and performance problems
• Perform approved installation, configuration, and maintenance of physical network
• Perform network system administration task both planned or during emergency
• Diagnose shop floor pc deployment

Skills and Qualifications

• Must possess solid desktop fundamentals with experience in PowerShell, Intune, and system administration
• Experience with asset management
• Demonstrate high energy given fast paced environment
• Working experience or strong understanding of enterprise technologies (Office365, Win10 Professional, imaging, and ticketing systems. Having experience supporting applications related to engineering, manufacturing, and logistics is a plus
• Use a Confident, Positive Attitude to deliver great customer experience and to be invigorated by constant personal interaction
• Deep understanding of diagnosing, troubleshooting, replacing PC/laptop hardware internal components (motherboard, hard drives, RAM, CPU), and understanding of troubleshooting PC software (Windows blue-screen, Outlook, connect network printers) as well
• Get work done independently; dependable availability to work scheduled hours
• Ability to handle multiple projects
• Experience working in an enterprise environment
• Ability to work with strong personalities
• Trusted to work proactively given limited site IT Leadership

Wage Range

The rate for this position is between$19.50 - $26.00 per hour, unlesslocal minimum wage is higher. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
