Job summary

The State of Missouri is seeking a qualified Mail Route Supervisor to lead the mail route team at the Jefferson City facility. You will oversee daily mail operations, coordinate route changes, and ensure timely and accurate processing for state agencies.

Your role includes supervising staff, maintaining mail data, and supporting the Mail Manager with fleet maintenance and meetings. A valid MO driver’s license and physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds are required.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of mail experience or closely related areas.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Active Missouri driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift, move, and transport supplies and/or mail up to 50 pounds.
  • High school diploma or proof of high school equivalency.
  • Commitment to maintaining up-to-date knowledge of evolving postal standards and mail center security protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Sort and meter mail.
  • Ensure that UPS shipments are processed.
  • Oversee employees' leave.
  • Review and adjust mail routes.
  • Communicate with customers.
  • Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate a delivery vehicle.
  • Oversee route drivers and ensure coverage for mail routes.
  • Assist Mail Manager with maintaining mail fleet.
  • Facilitate monthly Engage meetings.
  • Maintain spreadsheets with mail data.
