Job summary

State of South Carolina is seeking a mail operations role within the Department of Corrections. You will coordinate all activities between the U.S. post office and the institution, delivering and picking up mail while receiving USPS and UPS packages.

The position requires supervisory experience, a high school diploma, and completion of four weeks of SCDC Basic Training after hire. You will plan work assignments and supervise training to ensure secure, proper handling of mail.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and work experience in postal, courier or delivery operations.
• Three years of postal, courier or delivery operations with one year of supervisory experience, if using SCDC minimum.
• An associate degree or higher with one year of supervisory experience may substitute for the required work experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates all activities between the U.S. post office and the institution.
• Delivers and picks up all mail.
• Receives U.S. post office and united parcel service packages.
• Supervises inspection of all mail for contraband and coordinates activities between the post office and regulation.
• Plans and schedules work assignments and employee training.
• Supervises the receiving and distributing of U.S. and department mail.
• Supervises the activities of both incoming and outgoing mail and secure packages.
