Job summary

Florida State University’s National High Magnetic Field Laboratory in Tallahassee seeks a Research Engineer, Level II-IV, to advance mechanical design for high-field magnet systems.   • Bachelor's degree and three years of experience; or a high school diploma and seven years of experience.
  • Experience designing complex magnet assemblies.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD and engineering drawings (GD&T).

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical systems for high-field magnets.
  • Create 3D CAD models and drawings using Inventor/ SolidWorks/ Pro-Engineer.
  • Perform structural analyses and prepare testing plans for magnets.
  • Coordinate with researchers and external users on projects.
