Job summary

Donaldson is seeking a hands-on CNC operator for the 1st shift in Stevens Point. You will load materials, run machines, monitor cycles, and inspect parts using precision tools.

You will also read blueprints and assist with setup and routine maintenance while maintaining good attendance and flexibility for overtime and weekend work. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, basic math, mechanical aptitude, and computer literacy.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Basic shop math, mechanical aptitude, fundamental computer literacy, and willingness to learn, with ability to follow written and oral communications.
• Ability to stand/walk, lift over 35 lbs. repeatedly; lift/carry up to 65 lbs. occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machining equipment: load raw materials and unload finished parts per safety rules.
• Monitor production by observing machine cycles for errors, noise, and tool wear.
• Inspect finished parts using gauges, micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools.
• Assist with basic machine setup, tooling changes, cleaning metal chips, and routine upkeep.
• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues; perform preventive maintenance.
• Read and study basic technical drawings and work orders to understand part requirements.
• Maintain regular attendance and be able to work overtime and weekends if required.

1st Shift Hours: 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM [Monday through Friday]

OT include Saturdays as needed.

Starting pay: $24.68/hr.

Role Responsibilities:

• Operate CNC machining equipment: Load raw materials and unload finished parts while following safety rules.
• Monitor Production: Watch machine cycles to spot errors, unusual noises, and tool wear.
• Inspect for Quality: learn to measure finished parts using tools like gauges, micrometers and calipers and other precision instruments.
• Learn Setup & Maintenance: Assist with basic machine adjustments, changing tooling, cleaning metal chips, changing coolant, and routine upkeep.
• Learn to troubleshooting of equipment and process issues, perform preventive maintenance.
• Learn to Read Blueprints: Study basic technical drawings and work orders to understand part requirement
• Maintains a pattern of regular attendance and is able to work overtime and weekends if required

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or G.E.D. is required.
• Basic shop math, mechanical aptitude, fundamental computer literacy, and willingness to learn, along with the ability to follow written and oral communications.
• Ability to stand/walk, and lift over 35 lbs. on a continuous basis; lift/carry, bend/reach on a frequent basis; and lift/carry up to 65 lbs. on an occasional basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Some college / trade school and demonstrated mechanical ability.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
