Job summary

Donaldson Company is seeking a skilled CNC machinist for first shift in Stevens Point, WI. The role involves operating CNC equipment, inspecting parts, reading blueprints, and assisting with setup and preventive maintenance. OT may be required on weekends.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, basic math and computer literacy, and the ability to lift up to 65 lbs. Some college or trade school is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. is required.
  • Basic shop math, mechanical aptitude, fundamental computer literacy, and willingness to learn, along with the ability to follow written and oral communications.
  • Ability to stand/walk, and lift over 35 lbs. on a continuous basis; lift/carry, bend/reach on a frequent basis; and lift/carry up to 65 lbs. on an occasional basis.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machining equipment: Load raw materials and unload finished parts while following safety rules.
  • Monitor Production: Watch machine cycles to spot errors, unusual noises, and tool wear.
  • Inspect for Quality: learn to measure finished parts using gauges, micrometers and calipers and other precision instruments.
  • Learn Setup & Maintenance: Assist with basic machine adjustments, changing tooling, cleaning metal chips, changing coolant, and routine upkeep.
  • Learn to troubleshoot equipment and process issues, perform preventive maintenance.
  • Learn to Read Blueprints: Study basic technical drawings and work orders to understand part requirements.
  • Maintains a pattern of regular attendance and is able to work overtime and weekends if required.

1st Shift Hours: 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM [Monday through Friday] OT include Saturdays as needed.

Starting pay: $24.68/hr.
