Job Responsibilities

• Produce parts using standard machining processes.
• Calculate dimensions and tolerances, utilizing knowledge of mathematics and precision measurement instruments.
• Fabricate assemblies or subassemblies with machine tools such as saws, lathes, and milling machines.
• Make setup decisions based on the part, product, and material.
• Inspect completed products to ensure they meet drawings and customer requirements.
• Make minor adjustments and setup changes on basic machine tools and equipment.
• Align and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials onto machines.
• Monitor machine feed and speed during operation, adjusting as necessary.
• Ensure the machining area is free of hazards and all PPE is worn.
• Train and assist Machinist I and II.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent, plus trade school diploma in Machining/Machining Science.
• 7-9 years of experience in a machining environment.
• Ability to read and machine from complex engineering drawings.
• Capable of controlling machining equipment and monitoring gauges and indicators.
• Proficient in advanced mathematics and problem-solving in machining.
• Knowledge of CNC programming with the ability to make minor edits.
• Experience in producing products from engineering drawings and using precision measurement instruments.
• Knowledge of raw materials used in machining.
• Ability to train others.
• Ability to inspect the work area for safety hazards.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk, stand, sit, climb stairs, lift up to 50 pounds, and handle objects.
• Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• Work in a manufacturing environment.
