Job summary

Carpenter Technology Corporation in Tanner, AL, is seeking a Machinist II to operate manual and CNC equipment, perform machining of test specimens and parts, and support a fast-paced production environment with safety and quality in mind.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years of machinist experience, and familiarity with machine shop theory, layout, and CNC programs; competitive salary and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Two or more years of machinist experience.
Working knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures.
Experience with various CNC machines preferred.
Basic knowledge of continuous improvement concepts.

Responsibilities

Capable of learning and operating several work centers safely with supervision.
Perform the machining of test specimens and parts as instructed.
Operate manual and CNC equipment such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
Daily simple maintenance and cleaning of assigned equipment.
Inform supervision of all safety and quality concerns as needed.
Support business needs, including potential movement outside the machinist area.
