Machinist II

dormakaba Americas – Indianapolis, IN

Shift & Compensation: Third Shift (9:30 PM – 6:00 AM) – $23–$27 per hour plus $0.75 per hour shift differential. Mandatory overtime as needed. $2,000 sign‑on bonus (details provided during interview).

Position Overview

dormakaba is seeking a Machinist II to perform machine setups, tool changes, and adjustments as necessary.

What You Will Do
  • Operate machine according to standard operating instructions.
  • Document and inspect quality of work per Quality Assurance Inspection Procedure (QAIP).
  • Use micrometers, height gauges, calipers, and comparator.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience operating, setting up, and performing tool changes.
  • Understanding of shop math, blueprint reading, and Geometric Dimensional and Tolerance (GD&T).
  • Ability to perform advanced quality inspections.
  • Professional communication skills.
Physical Requirements

Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and use close vision, with or without correction.

  • Knowledge of SAP or other enterprise systems.
  • Understanding of similar quality‑control concepts.
  • Computer proficiency and lean skills.
  • Documented manufacturing education/training.
