Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct workflow and cross-train new employees entering the department.
  • Operate material handling equipment including forklift, WAV, and TSP.
  • Maintain appropriate stocking levels without disrupting customers, in collaboration with other departments.
  • Inspect shipments for damage and verify packing slips, invoices, and bills of lading.
  • Perform material movements using SAP via RF device or computer.
  • Pull material parts from bins using a pick list and RF device to fill Transfer Orders.

Job description

dormakaba is seeking a 2nd shift (2:00PM-10:30PM) Materials Lead based in Indianapolis, IN. The Materials Leadis responsible for performing manual and clerical duties and may also utilize computers in the preparation of materials and supplies for assembly and manufacturing. This role typically involves end-to-end ownership of the material replenishment and fulfillment process for all materials in the plant.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: Base Salary $21.00/hr. - $23.00/hr.plus a 1.00 Shift differential and mandatory overtime as needed (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data). What you will do
  • Help lead and direct workflow and cross train new employees coming into the department
  • Operate material handling equipment including, but not limited to: Fork Truck, Forklift, Work Assist Vehicle (WAV), Turret Stock Picker (TSP)
  • Ensure appropriate stocking levels are maintained without disruption to customers while partnering with other departments
  • Examine shipments at the time of delivery for damage, and verify the accuracy of information listed on packing slips, invoices, and bills of lading by visually inspecting the boxes, ensuring the accuracy of internal deliveries
  • Complete material movement transactions utilizing Systems, Applications & Products (SAP) software via RF device or computer
  • Pull material parts from bins using a pick list and RF device to fill Transfer Orders (e.g., identify the specific part/lot number, quantity, and locations of all ordered items)

  • Solid Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) experience, or the ability to be certified on such warehouse equipment, may be required (must be comfortable working at heights of up to 25 feet)

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

Must be able to:

  • Stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle and feel
  • Reach with hands and arms, climb and balance
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Have good vision with the ability to adjust to focus and use close vision with or without correction
