Daniel Defense is hiring a Machinist 1 for mixed model production in our Manufacturing division. You will operate and troubleshoot CNC machines, calibrate tools, inspect parts with precision instruments, and assist in training operators to meet production goals in a safety-conscious environment.

The role emphasizes adherence to SOPs, quality standards, and teamwork across shifts to ensure smooth cell operations and continuous improvement in manufacturing performance.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED; typically 2–4 years of manufacturing experience or related training.
• Knowledge of GD&T, machine tool programming languages (G & M codes), and blueprint reading.
• Ability to interpret programming languages, anticipate machine action, and use distance-to-go and overrides.
• Teamwork and proactive collaboration with others; willingness to work across departments and shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate machines within SOPs, quality, and safety procedures.
• Troubleshoot production problems and perform proven setups under supervision.
• Make offsets to tools, preset tools, and calibrate probes and tool setters.
• Perform repetitive part inspection with micrometers, calipers, and indicators.
• Assist with training machine operators and support process flow to meet production needs.
• Support safety, 6S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
