Job summary

HOLT CAT in Irving, Texas is seeking a Machinist I to support engine repair and machining tasks. The role involves tearing down, cleaning, inspecting, and assembling cylinder heads on diesel and natural gas engines under supervision.

You will assist other machinists and learn to work with CNC and manual equipment in a busy shop. The position requires basic tool handling, ability to read micrometers, blueprints, and technical publications, and a commitment to safety and quality in a team

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical school preferred.
• One year experience preferred; reading a micrometer is required.
• Basic knowledge of equipment/tools and reading blueprints.
• Proficiency with basic hand tools, power tools, and machine tools.

Responsibilities

• Tear down, clean, inspect and assemble cylinder heads on diesel and natural gas engines.
• Assist other machinists with repairs on diesel and natural gas engines.
• Take out broken bolts from engine components.
• Maintain shop cleanliness and safety compliance.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical publications.
• Support machinists with layout and design tasks as needed.
