Summary

The Machinist I reports to the Machine Shop Supervisor and is responsible for setting up and operating tooling and fixtures, completing tasks according to Routers and Blueprints, and adhering to all shop processes and instructions. Tasks should be performed accurately and independently.

Essential Job Functions

• Review Machine Shop Paper and tooling requirements for setup.
• Support and work under Machinist II supervision.
• Create tooling, fixtures, jigs, and models using conventional equipment.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Interpret Blueprints and geometrical tolerances.
• Complete documentation such as First Article Sheets and OEE reports.
• Conduct First Article Inspections.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and communicate discrepancies clearly.
• Use inspection equipment necessary for tasks.
• Support quality compliance per company policies.

Physical Demands

• Perform sitting, standing, and walking throughout the day.
• Lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Reaching, stretching, pushing, pulling, and other physical activities are required daily.
• Specific vision abilities include close and focused vision.

Qualifications

• At least one year of machining experience with conventional equipment.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Good understanding of shop math, geometry, and blueprint reading.
• Effective communication skills.
• Dexterity, coordination, and accuracy.

Additional Information
