Description

SUMMARY: Gets direction from the Machine Shop Supervisor; primary responsibilities include setting up and operating tooling and fixtures for the Model Shop, completing tasks as assigned according to the Router and Blueprints. Complies with all Machine Shop Processes, including WI, MI, and Operating Procedures. Tasks should be performed accurately, timely, and independently.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Receive, review, and interpret Machine Shop Paper (MSP) and tooling needed for setup.
2. Work under Machinist II supervision.
3. Fabricate tooling, fixtures, jigs, and models to support manufacturing.
4. Operate conventional equipment such as lathes, mills, surface grinders, and support tools.
5. Maintain a clean work area.
6. Interpret blueprints and geometrical tolerances.
7. Complete necessary documentation: First Article Sheet, MSP, OEE, and 5S.
8. Provide First Article Inspection (FAI).
9. Troubleshoot machining issues and communicate discrepancies effectively.
10. Use inspection equipment essential to the tasks.
11. Support quality system compliance per company policies.

Physical Demands

Includes sitting, standing, walking, occasional lifting up to 25 pounds, reaching, stretching, pushing, pulling, climbing, crouching, and stooping. Vision requirements include close focus and adjustable focus capabilities.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills, hand dexterity, and attention to detail.

Language Skills
