Job Summary

We are seeking a Machinist B to support machining operations of the division’s Value Streams in New Hope, MN. The position involves operating production machine tools such as grinders, hobs, manuals, machining centers, mills, and lathes for close‑tolerance work with minimal supervision.

Main Responsibilities

• Determine sequence of operations by studying blueprints, specifications, and work orders.
• Prepare machines for production by positioning and securing tools and part‑holding fixtures; use inspection equipment.
• Set up and change fixtures, tooling for existing products.
• Upload and download programs through DNC system.
• Maintain specifications by observing operations, detecting malfunctions, inspecting parts, and adjusting controls while keeping tight tolerance objectives.
• Use CMM and hand inspection equipment to validate locations.
• Apply knowledge of SPC.
• Ensure equipment operation following TPM instructions.
• Complete production and quality logs.
• Maintain fluid levels on machines, including coolant, spindle, and hydraulic fluids.
• Maintain chip removal, area housekeeping according to 5S and safety procedures.
• Notify Lead or Supervisor of equipment problems.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, including lower classification jobs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of machining experience.
• Preferred: 2‑year college or higher education.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, process sheets, and blueprints.
• Verbal communication skills sufficient to provide feedback to internal and external customers.
• Basic math skills, ability to convert metric measurements to standard measurements.

Competitive Compensation

• The hourly pay is $31.25 per hour, with potential to earn up to $36.62 per hour.
