Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is seeking a machinist for the 2nd shift (3pm–12:30am) to plan, set up, and operate lathes, mills, and grinders to produce parts to exact tolerances in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Under general supervision, you will review drawings, select tooling and speeds, perform turning, milling, drilling, reaming, and related operations, and conduct routine machine maintenance. An associate's degree and 4+ years of related experience are required.

Qualifications

• Requires an associate's degree or technical/trade school training and 4+ years of related experience.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and instructions.
• Proficient with machining equipment and safe practices.
• Willingness to work 2nd shift (3pm–12:30am) and adapt to aerospace standards.

Responsibilities

• Reviews engineering drawings to plan operations and tool selection.
• Setups for lathes, mills or grinders; operate to required tolerances.
• Perform turning, milling, drilling, reaming and related operations.
• Operate CNC machines and perform basic preventive maintenance.
• Observe safety procedures and company policies.
