Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) in Adelanto is seeking a 2nd shift Machinist to perform moderately complex machine operations. You will plan, set up, and operate lathes, mills, and grinders to produce parts to exact tolerances under general supervision.

Candidate should have 4+ years of related experience, proficiency with 5-axis machining, and the ability to read engineering drawings. DoD clearance requirement applies. Full-time hourly position with competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Typically requires an associate's degree, technical/trade school training or equivalent and four or more years related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
• Experience with 5-axis machining preferred; CNC milling and turning.
• DoD security clearance ability.
• Strong measurement and inspection skills.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings and plan operations, choose tools, speeds, feeds.
• Set up and operate lathes, mills or grinders.
• Machining of developmental, production, or maintenance parts.
• Tool grinding and maintenance.
• Maintain safe work practices and comply with procedures.
