Job summary

Mancan is seeking a Machinist in the Girard area for 1st shift. Pay up to $75,000 yearly, based on experience and discussed at interview. You will produce and modify tooling, set up and operate lathes and mills, and interpret blueprints to ensure quality tooling.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma or GED, machining experience, design interpretation skills, and strong mechanical aptitude. Benefits include 401(k), health and life insurance, and more.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of manual machining experience (5 years preferred).
• Machine, vehicle and/or building maintenance experience preferred but not required.
• Vocational Training, Apprenticeship or Technical Degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of similar or related work experience preferred but not required.
• Genuine mechanical aptitude.
• Manual dexterity, accuracy and attention to detail.
• Tool & die experience preferred.
• Ability to use precision tools to take accurate measurements.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and manuals.
• Knowledge of metal properties preferred.
• Proven mathematical skills and analytical abilities.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting.
• Electrical experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Produce and modify tooling and perform basic maintenance.
• Set up, operate and maintain shop equipment (lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, powered hand tools).
• Interpret blueprints to produce high-quality tooling for manufacturing purposes.
• Keep workspace neat and organized for tool life and efficiency.
