Gtrjobs in Cleveland, OH is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Machinist for 1st shift to program, set up, and operate manual horizontal boring mills in a low-volume shop. The ideal candidate will read blueprints, apply GD&T, select tooling, manage tools and offsets, and drive part quality from first piece through final inspection.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years hands-on experience operating and setting up manual horizontal boring mills.
• Experience programming and editing G-code/M-code.
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T drawings and maintain tight tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Write, edit, and troubleshoot CNC programs for lathes and machines.
• Set up and operate machining equipment to produce custom precision parts.
• Select cutting tools, determine speeds/feeds, and set work coordinates.
• Perform complex setups with fixtures and alignment devices.
• Complete first-piece inspections and adjust as needed.
• Read blueprints and GD&T specifications.
• Inspect parts with calipers, micrometers, indicators.
• Monitor tool wear and optimize cycle times.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
