Job summary

Tramec Sloan is seeking a Machining Technician in Ohio to set up, operate, and maintain precision machining equipment such as Hydromat rotary transfer and multi-spindle machines. You will ensure safe and efficient production while developing technical skills through paid hands-on training.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn through training
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
• Basic math skills and analytical thinking
• Experience or training in machining or manufacturing environments preferred
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Operate precision machining equipment safely and efficiently to meet production requirements.
• Set up machines per engineering drawings and production specifications.
• Load materials, monitor performance, and verify quality throughout production.
• Perform machine changeovers, tooling adjustments, and offsets.
• Inspect finished parts with calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and maintain efficiency.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and assist with repairs.
• Install, replace, and adjust machine parts and tooling.
• Maintain accurate production and maintenance records.
• Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, and machine performance.
• Collaborate with team members to share knowledge and train others.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow safety policies.
