Job summary

Tramec Sloan in Galion, OH is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor for 2nd shift to lead the machining department on the shop floor. You will supervise, train, and support machining operations, setups, and inspections to meet safety, quality, and productivity goals.

The role requires hands-on machining leadership, strong knowledge of GD&T and blueprints, and a focus on continuous improvement. Shift: 2:00pm–10:00pm, with hours potentially varying.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3–5+ years hands-on machining experience.
• Previous supervisory or lead experience preferred.
• Proficient in reading blueprints and GD&T.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Willingness to work 2nd shift.

Responsibilities

• Supervise machining employees on 2nd shift.
• Assign tasks based on production needs and skill level.
• Assist with machine setups, tooling, and troubleshooting.
• Monitor production schedules, machine performance, downtime, scrap, and rework.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and GD&T.
• Perform and oversee first-piece, in-process, and final inspections.
