Job summary

The Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN seeks a Machining Process Engineer at the senior level to act as SME for weapon operation processes and to lead the development and implementation of new production processes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The role requires strong analytical skills, experience in production settings, and the ability to coordinate readiness assessments and startup activities while maintaining strict safety and quality standards at Y-12.

Qualifications

• SME expertise in weapon operation processes and procedures.
• Ability to develop and lead implementation of new weapon processes.
• Experience performing process studies and resolving technical issues affecting production, quality, and capacity.
• Strong understanding of safety basis requirements and design agency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for weapon operation processes and procedures in production environments.
• Develop, maintain, and lead implementation of new weapon processes and changes to existing ones.
• Conduct process studies, coordinate readiness assessments, and supervise startup plans.
• Provide training to operations personnel and maintain technical content in work control documents.
