Y-12 National Security Complex seeks a Development Researcher to lead advanced R&D activities in production-related applications and national security programs. You will coordinate engineering projects from inception to completion, present findings, and collaborate with design agencies, vendors, and contractors to drive innovations in materials processing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering/Physical Science or MS/PhD in Engineering/Physical Science; ABET or equivalent accreditation.
• GPA requirement up to 4 years post-graduation; experience may substitute GPA beyond four years.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical project assignments and coordinate engineering work from inception to completion.
• Present technical results to plant personnel and external stakeholders.
• Develop and apply innovations in production and materials processing.
• Interface with design agencies, vendors, and contractors to ensure collaboration.
• Provide technical oversight and troubleshooting for metallurgical processing in production areas.
