Job summary

Parker Aerospace is seeking an entry-level machinist on the shop floor to tend machines in the Forge, Rotary and CNC Departments. You may also work in Assembly or Deburring as needed.

The role emphasizes quality controls and adherence to safety standards while handling various presses and tooling. Responsibilities include maintaining paperwork, performing visual and gauged quality checks, and supporting trainees during training periods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Machine classes or vocational training helpful.
• Entry level: ability to train on all job functions.
• Machining experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Tends machines and presses in Forge, Rotary or CNC Departments.
• Check for and file paperwork for completed jobs.
• Make periodic visual and gauged quality checks; complete all quality paperwork and approvals.
• Pull SPC on incoming raw materials.
• Maintain a high degree of quality and safety.
• Ability to give operating instructions when needed.
• Ability to train, instruct and assist trainees through the training period.
• Use of judgment to plan, perform and make decisions as to set ups and operations within recognized procedures.
• Proceed on work assignments with minimum supervision and assistance.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
• Must be able to stand, sit, reach, bend, twist, reach overhead, walk, and carry brass parts
• Must be able to lift an average of 40 lbs. in baskets, boxes, etc. on an average 8-hour shift
