Job summary
Milwaukee Succeeds in Wisconsin is seeking a Sales Engineer - Cost Estimator to evaluate new machining opportunities, develop accurate customer quotations, and support growth. You will review prints and CAD models, evaluate feasibility, and perform cycle time calculations to build detailed cost estimates for labor, tooling, and materials.
Responsibilities include preparing quotations, collaborating with suppliers, and supporting sales presentations while exploring new technologies and process
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related technical field.
- 8+ years in manufacturing, engineering, machining, estimating, or quoting.
- Experience with CAD platforms such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, or Pro/Engineer.
- Strong ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T.
Responsibilities
- Review customer prints, CAD models, specs, and production requirements.
- Evaluate feasibility and select optimal machining processes.
- Perform cycle time calculations and time studies.
- Develop cost estimates covering labor, machine time, tooling, and materials.
- Collaborate with suppliers to obtain pricing for materials and subcontracted work.
- Prepare and review quotations for accuracy and profitability.
- Research new manufacturing tech and process improvements.
- Support sales presentations, business cases, and plant tours.
