Job summary

WORKERS.COM in San Jose, CA seeks an experienced CNC Machine Shop Estimator to develop accurate cost estimates for CNC milling, turning, drilling, and related operations. You will review customer drawings, CAD models and RFQs, then collaborate with engineers and production to ensure estimates are technically sound and commercially competitive.

The role requires hands-on knowledge of machining processes, tooling, fixtures, and inspection.

Qualifications

• Hands-on CNC machining knowledge and estimating experience.
• Ability to read drawings and CAD models with GD&T.
• Strong mathematical, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience with quotes, lead times, and cost drivers.

Responsibilities

• Review RFQs, drawings, CAD models, and specs to build cost estimates.
• Determine processes, tooling, fixtures, and inspection requirements.
• Estimate material, labor, machine time, setup, and outside costs.
• Calculate cycle times, programming needs, and production quantities.
• Prepare detailed quotations for customers and follow up on quotes.
• Collaborate with engineering, programmers, purchasing, and production.
• Identify risks, cost drivers, and opportunities to reduce costs.
