Job summary

Actalent is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer with strong machining expertise to enhance our growing operation in Pompano Beach, FL. You will optimize processes, design tooling and fixtures, and support CNC/manual machining to boost efficiency and quality.

The role involves close collaboration with machinists, suppliers, and production teams to bring new products from concept to production while implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a machining-intensive environment.
• Proven CNC machining and metal fabrication expertise.
• Experience with CAD/CAM tools and interpreting drawings/ GD&T.
• Ability to lead root cause investigations and drive corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve manufacturing processes for machined, fabricated, and assembled products.
• Support CNC mills, CNC lathes, presses, and rotary equipment.
• Design and develop production tooling, fixtures, jigs, and workholding aids.
• Create and maintain work instructions, process flows, and routings.
• Evaluate part designs for manufacturability (DFM) and collaborate on improvements.
• Program, troubleshoot, and optimize CNC machining to improve cycle times and reduce waste.
• Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, safety, and throughput.
• Work with shop personnel to resolve production challenges.
• Support new product introduction from prototype to full production.
• Manage relationships with vendors and outside machine shops.
• Specify and implement new equipment and automation as needed.
• Analyze production metrics and drive Lean improvement initiatives.
• Support quoting with labor estimates and tooling requirements.
