Job summary

Actalent in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to advance CNC programming, CAD/CAM modeling, and tooling design in a shop-floor driven environment. You will develop and optimize CNC programs, create CAD models, standardize processes, and partner with machinists, operations, and engineering teams to deliver robust machining and repair solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience in lieu of a degree.
• Hands-on experience with CAD/CAM in a manufacturing setting is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs for vertical lathes and mills.
• Create and modify CAD models to support toolpaths, repair strategies, and validation activities.
• Diagnose machining issues at the machine, refine G-code and post-processor output, and validate setups with machinists.
• Lead and support Lean and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time and improve process flow.
• Support ERP routings and manufacturing documentation; maintain setup sheets and work instructions.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and customers to define machining and repair strategies that meet quality and cost goals.
• Support first-article validation and production trials; ensure processes are robust and repeatable.
