Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Washington is seeking a manufacturing tooling engineer to coordinate the production of custom machine tools, including mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems, for the shop floor.

You will develop assembly sequencing, interpret design documents into work orders, and support hardware integration. Implement DFx reviews to improve quality and reduce cost, and drive preventive actions for discrepancies on site.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Proven track record delivering integrated, highly engineered products to completion.
• Excellent written, verbal, and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the manufacturing of custom manufacturing machine tools, including structural, pneumatic, and electrical systems integration.
• Develop overall assembly sequencing for machine tool assembly and adjust in real time to production issues.
• Interpret design engineering documents into work orders that direct touch labor on the machine integration floor.
• Support hardware integration of complex electromechanical devices and troubleshoot issues on the floor.
• Provide design for manufacturability reviews of machine tool designs to improve quality and reduce cost.
• Develop and implement preventive actions related to discrepancies.
• Coordinate and create procurement tickets to ensure timely delivery and meet schedule.
