Job summary

KAAST Machine Tools, Inc. in Chicago, IL is seeking a Machine Tool Service Technician (Shop & Field) to install, inspect, test, and repair CNC and conventional machines at our facility and at customer sites.

You will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, perform preventive maintenance, and support startups to ensure peak performance. This hands-on role requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read blueprints and schematics, and excellent customer service as you interact with

Qualifications

• 1+ year of industrial machine installation, maintenance, or repair experience.
• Ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Hands-on experience with machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, saws, grinders, press brakes or shears.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot problems.
• Ability to travel 25-50% and interact professionally with customers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare new machines for customer shipment and inspection.
• Uncrate, assemble, power up, and perform inspections and testing.
• Install machinery and assist with startups at customer sites.
• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on equipment.
• Provide technical support over the phone and on-site.
• Document service work and maintain a clean, safe work area.
