Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Machine Excellence Diagnostic Specialist for the 2nd shift in Lafayette, IN. You will diagnose complex machine tools using multiple metrology systems and support the maintenance team to resolve electrical and mechanical issues.

This role requires experience with laser and alignment techniques, the ability to read tool prints, and willingness to travel and work overtime to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or 3+ years in lasering/alignment of machine tools and related equipment.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Willingness to work substantial overtime to support production goals.

Responsibilities

• Use metrology equipment to diagnose machine tools and related equipment.
• Perform proactive diagnostic inspections to improve quality.
• Assist maintenance in troubleshooting electrical or mechanical issues.
