Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an Automation Machine Tool Electrician for the Lafayette, IN area. You will troubleshoot and repair CNC/PLC controlled machines, drive systems and related equipment in a busy, climate-controlled machine shop.

Two shifts are available (2nd and 3rd), with a $5,000 sign-on bonus, up to date benefits, and a 40-hour workweek with overtime potential. Strong electrical repair experience and the ability to read prints are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the electrical repair of machine tools and related equipment.
• Experience with CNC/PLC controlled equipment (Fanuc, Siemens, Allen Bradley, Modicon).
• Ability to read machine tool prints/schematics and interpret them.
• Experience with AC/DC analog and digital drives (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Modicon, Indramat).
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Repair and troubleshoot CNC/PLC controlled machines and related equipment in a large industrial machine shop.
• Repair and service machines from brands like Okuma, G&L, Mazak, Lamb, Landis, Waldrich Coburg, Ingersoll, Toyoda, DMG Mori.
• Work with P&H cranes and hoists, conveyors, furnaces, and robots as needed.
• Project and perform basic mechanical tasks and use standard shop tools.
• Overtime may be required to support production demands.
