Job summary

Caterpillar in Lafayette, Indiana is seeking an Automation Machine Tool Electrician on 2nd and 3rd shifts to troubleshoot and repair CNC/PLC-controlled equipment in a large industrial machine shop. The role requires hands-on electrical repair experience with a range of machine tools and robotics systems.

Qualified candidates have at least 3 years of electrical repair experience, are capable of reading prints/schematics, and understand CNC/PLC controls.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in electrical repair of machine tools and related equipment.
• Experience with CNC/PLC controlled machines and drive systems.
• Ability to read machine tool prints and schematics and interpret controller data.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain CNC and PLC controlled machines, relays, drives, and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment from brands like Okuma, Mazak, and others in a large industrial shop.
• Operate basic tools, read schematics, and work overtime to support production needs.
