Caterpillar Inc. in Lafayette, IN is seeking a Machine Excellence Diagnostic Specialist for the 2nd shift to diagnose and troubleshoot complex machine tools using metrology equipment.

Responsibilities include proactive inspections, reading prints, and ensuring geometrical accuracy to support maintenance and new purchases. The role requires apprenticeship or 3+ years’ experience, the ability to work overtime, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in lasering and/or alignment of machine tools and related equipment.
• Ability to read machine tool prints and interpret CMM reports.
• Comfort with tight tolerances and Geometrical tolerancing.

Responsibilities

• Use metrology tools to diagnose machine tool conditions and support maintenance.
• Perform proactive diagnostic inspections on machine tools and related equipment.
• Assist in correcting geometrical accuracy and tolerances for new purchases.
• Support travel and overtime as needed to meet production goals.
