Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. seeks a Preventative Maintenance Technician to join their Lafayette, Indiana facility. You will ensure effective preventative maintenance and lubrication of machinery, focusing on chip and coolant handling systems. This position directly supports Machine Repairmen in various tasks and involves executing minor mechanical repairs independently.

The role includes working 2nd or 3rd shifts with competitive hourly pay ranging from $30.28 to $38.52, plus a $2,500 sign-on bonus and excellent benefits including medical insurance and 401(k) savings plan.

Qualifications

• Experience with preventive maintenance on industrial CNC machine tools, conveyors, robots, and/or coolant systems.
• Thorough knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication systems, and welding.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and lubrication on machines and equipment in the machine shop.
• Maintain chip and coolant handling systems at service level.
• Assist Machine Repairmen with two‑person tasks on equipment.

Skills

Basic welding and cutting skills
