Job summary

Brian Tooley Racing is seeking a dedicated Machine Shop Technician to support manufacturing and production. The role spans multiple shop areas, operating CNC and manual equipment, deburring parts, assembling components, and inspecting with precision.

You will read work instructions, follow procedures, and help maintain a clean, safe environment while contributing to on-time production and quality goals.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required or preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing or machine shop experience is advantageous.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, measuring instruments, and shop equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality are essential.
  • Ability to read basic work instructions and follow procedures.
  • Dependability with good attendance and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and support production tasks per quality and safety standards.
  • Cross train across machine shop areas and assist multiple departments as needed.
  • Read and follow work instructions, blueprints, and SOPs.
  • Inspect parts for quality and report defects or concerns.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas and equipment.
  • Assist with inventory counts and material organization.
  • Collaborate with team to meet daily production goals.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and process improvements.

Summary:

The Machine Shop Technician performs a variety of manufacturing and production support tasks to ensure high-quality products are produced efficiently and safely. This role is designed to be cross trained across multiple machine shop function, allowing employees to support various departments as business needs change. Responsibilities may include operating machinery, deburring, assembly support, inspection, cleaning, and other production-related duties.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Perform assigned production tasks in accordance with quality and safety standards.
  • Cross train and work in multiple areas of the machine shop, including but not limited to:
    • Deburring machined components
    • Operating CNC and manual equipment (as trained)
    • Cleaning and preparing parts
    • Product inspection using measuring tools and gauges
    • Assembly and sub-assembly of components
  • Read and follow work instructions, blueprints, and standard operating procedures
  • Inspect parts for quality and report any defects or production concerns
  • Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of work areas and equipment
  • Accurately complete production documentation as required
  • Assist with inventory counts and organization of materials
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily production goals
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and process improvements
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing, CNC, warehouse, and production environment
  • Regular standing, walking, bending, lifting, reaching, and material handling is required
  • May be required to lift, move, or handle parts, supplies, boxes, and other production materials
  • Exposure to noise, machinery, oils, coolants, dust, and standard manufacturing conditions may occur
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear
  • This role may require movement between CNC locations and production areas throughout the facility
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous manufacturing or machine shop experience preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn multiple production processes
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, measuring instruments, and shop equipment
  • Ability to read basic work instructions and follow established procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Dependable with good attendance and a positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
