Job summary

AGC Heat Transfer, Inc. in Fairview, Oregon is seeking a hands-on Machine Shop Lead to drive daily production, quality, and continuous improvement. You will mentor a CNC team, coordinate shop activities, and partner with the Machine Shop Supervisor to maintain flow and safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 2 years of CNC Lathe and Mill experience.
• Strong CNC setup and operation skills.
• Experience operating CNC machines, manual mills, lathes, and related equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments.
• Strong shop math skills including geometry, trig, feeds, and speeds.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Able to communicate effectively in English.
• Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
• Reliable attendance and work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily machine shop activities according to production schedules.
• Stage job routers and prioritize work across machine shop work centers.
• Support CNC programming by providing drawings, schedules, and production priorities.
• Transfer completed jobs to inventory and kitting teams.
• Assist with tooling inventory management.
• Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) verification as needed.
• Troubleshoot setup and production issues alongside machinists.
• Serve as the machine shop representative on the safety committee.
• Train and onboard new employees.
• Lead shift change meetings and team communications.
• Promote continuous improvement, waste reduction, and Lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Monitor quality standards and assist with corrective actions.
• Re-prioritize production schedules when business needs change.
• Provide leadership and decision-making support when the supervisor is unavailable.
