Viking Drill & Tool, Inc. is hiring a Machine Set-Up Technician for the 3rd shift (10:00 p.m.–6:30 a.m.) to set up and operate grinding machines for twist drill bits, ensuring parts meet exact specifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read safety rules, manuals, and procedures.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units).
• Knowledge of machines, tools, and mechanical processes.
• Ability to perform routine maintenance and identify issues.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) and meet attendance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and job cards for dimensions, tolerances, and production requirements.
• Set up grinding machines, tooling, and components.
• Adjust machine controls for speed, feed rate, and wheel angles.
• Inspect finished parts for quality and accuracy.
• Troubleshoot equipment to keep production running.
• Perform routine machine maintenance.
• Complete production and inventory documentation.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with machine operations as needed.

• Pay:$30.13 - $41.44/hour (this wage range reflects base pay. There is a shift differential of anadditional $1.50/hour worked for 3rd shift)
• Schedule: Sunday Evening- Friday Morning, 10:00 p.m.-6:30 a.m.

About the Role

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Frequent use of hands to handle drill bits and tools
• Visual acuity includes close vision, depth perception, and color vision
• Must successfully complete a post-offer physical assessment
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen
