Job summary

H.O. Penn Machinery in Poughkeepsie, NY is seeking an Inside Sales Representative for a regular full-time role. The position focuses on assisting walk-in customers and handling phone inquiries to secure business, while leveraging CRM tools to identify opportunities.

You will qualify leads, coordinate with Outside Sales, maintain CRM data, and contribute to the Machine Sales Department by building relationships in the territory. Base salary is $50,000 plus commission, with full benefits.

Qualifications

• Prior customer service, sales, retail or inside sales experience preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); CRM experience a plus.
• Excellent communication and ability to articulate features and value.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently while contributing to a team.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the territory.

Responsibilities

• Handle walk-in and phone inquiries to secure business when opportunities arise.
• Greet customers professionally to create an immediate buying atmosphere.
• Use sales tools to assist closing, including probing, merchandising, and product knowledge.
• Qualify leads and pass to Outside Sales Reps as appropriate.
• Maintain display areas and ensure machines are ready for customer use.
