Job summary

Eaton’s Boyd Thermal Integration team is seeking a Machine Safety Engineering Specialist. The Machine Safety Engineer ensures the functional safety and compliance of machinery and automated systems through international safety standards and risk assessment methodologies.

The role leads risk assessments, designs safety-related control systems, develops safety documentation, and collaborates with EHS, engineering, maintenance, and operations to drive risk reduction and safe operation across

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• Minimum 6+ years of machinery safety experience.
• Strong proficiency in safety system design, validation, and deployment.
• Familiarity with LOTO and energy control processes.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% and legal working in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Lead machine safety risk assessments and hazard analyses for equipment and systems per ISO 12100.
• Design, implement, validate safety-related control systems and functions per ISO 13849 and IEC 62061.
• Develop Safety Requirements Specifications and performance level determinations.
• Verify and validate safety systems through testing, analysis, and documentation.
• Develop remediation plans and manage projects from assessment to implementation.
• Collaborate with EHS, engineering, maintenance, and operations to reduce risk.
