Job summary

Shawsheen Coating & Converting is hiring full-time Machine Operators for the 2nd shift in Andover, MA. You will load and run textile winding or slitting machines, monitor quality, and complete production documentation while keeping operations safe and efficient.

Ideal candidates have some manufacturing experience, but all willing learners who are dependable and safety-minded are encouraged to apply. Training provided with a 4x10 schedule and potential overtime.

Machine Operator - 2nd Shift

$19.80-$25.30/hour on 2nd shift | Monday-Thursday | 4-day workweek | Overtime available

Shawsheen Coating & Converting is hiring full-time Machine Operators for 2nd shift in Andover, MA. You will operate textile winding or slitting equipment, monitor product quality, complete production documentation, and help keep production running safely and efficiently.

Machine operation, manufacturing, or textile experience is a plus, but not required. We are looking for dependable people who are willing to learn, follow safety and quality procedures, and work well as part of a team.

Compensation & Benefits

Base pay is $18-$23 per hour. 2nd shift includes a 10% shift differential, bringing pay to $19.80-$25.30 per hour.

What You Will Do

• Load and operate textile winding or slitting machines.
• Monitor equipment and product quality to help meet daily production goals.
• Follow work instructions, production schedules, and established operating procedures.
• Complete required production documentation accurately and on time.
• Report equipment, production, quality, or safety issues to your supervisor.
• Follow safety and environmental procedures and wear required PPE.

Schedule & Training

• Regular 2nd shift: Monday-Thursday, 4:00 p.m.-2:00 a.m. (four 10-hour shifts).
• Training may require approximately 45-60 days on 1st shift, Tuesday-Friday, 6:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., before moving to 2nd shift.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous machine operator, production, or manufacturing experience is a plus, but not required.
• Textile winding, coating, slitting, or similar machine experience is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Dependable, safety-minded, and able to maintain consistent attendance.
• Able to communicate and work effectively with a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Willing and able to work 10-hour shifts, overtime as needed, and reliably commute to our Andover facility.

Location

The Shawsheen plant is accessible by public transportation and is approximately a 3-minute walk from the Ballardvale MBTA station on the Haverhill Line.
